Fried Chicken

To honor Moms, we asked our customers to share a favorite childhood meal with us. We chose the heartfelt memory of Deborah Thomas from Pennsylvania and her mother’s Fried Chicken.

Recipe:

Fryer chicken cut up into pieces with extra wings and legs soaked in buttermilk then dredged in flour salt and pepper with paprika dipped in a beaten egg and dredged again fried in white crisco lard in the cast iron pans. The gravy was a secret but it had finely chopped onions cream or milk butter made in the frying pan she cooked the chicken in.
